Introduction to “The Self”

I truly never expected a book to be written, much less published, and yet here we are. Consciousness and the life force demanded expression, the body-mind conceded and I merely bore witness to its unfolding.

At this stage, there is little that the world has to offer that holds more than a fleeting interest for me. After all, the world is merely a projection of what dwells within with no reality or substance of its own. The images that scroll across the screen during a movie are not the source, they are merely the projection. The source is the film within the projector and the light that is shined upon the film. When brought together, the images appear on the screen. The same is true for people. The world one perceives is the result of an internal “film” which is the experiences collected in consciousness. It is the light of consciousness illuminating said experiences along with body identification that creates the appearance of an external world in which one lives. However, this “external world” concept only holds up if you still consider yourself to be a person existing in that world, still identified with the body-mind, taking that to be your form. If you’ve read the book or have done spiritual exploration of your own then you’ve most likely discovered that this limited perception is nothing more than an illusion.

One can assume that, through such exploration, you’ve discovered that the body-mind is part of that projection. It is a tool, an instrument for carrying out daily affairs in that world. It also provides the framework for consciousness to appear. After all, for awareness to be conscious, it requires something to be conscious of. For one to be sentient and aware of one’s existence, the body is required. But you, the real you, the Self, the witness to all of this, are not that limited body. You are so much more.

“The Self” is the potential title and premise of a second book that I also have no interest in writing but information continues to flow. Consciousness and the life force continually seek expression through words using this body-mind as the vehicle for such expression. Once again the body-mind concedes and I continue to bear witness to it all. However, since this blog is available, instead of writing a second book, going through the publishing process, and having to charge people for information that I believe should be freely given, I will gradually and no doubt inconsistently be posting chapters to this blog as they emerge. Whenever new material is available on the blog I will post about it on the various social media outlets so bookmark this page and stay tuned. As was stated towards the end of the book, this journey has only just begun. It will continue here on this blog and I am glad you are here to share it with me.
